Azul, operating as Azul Brazilian Airlines, is a Brazilian airline with headquarters in Barueri, São Paulo. The airline functions on a business model of providing affordable and frequent passenger service to underserved destinations in Brazil. The airline was founded on May 5, 2008 by David Neeleman (who also founded JetBlue, an American low-cost air carrier), and began operations later that year with a fleet of 76 Embraer 195 aircraft.
Currently, the airline serves over 100 destinations in Brazil, Argentina, Portugal, French Guiana, the United States and Uruguay, and is Brazil’s second largest international and the third largest domestic air carrier. Azul has codeshare agreements with several airlines like JetBlue Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, United Airlines, TAP Air Portugal and Turkish Airlines. It has an impressive fleet of 127 aircraft which include, among others, 69 Embraer E195, 40 ATR 72-600 and 10 Embraer E190 planes. TudoAzul, its frequent flyer program, allows regular passengers to earn and redeem flying points on the basis of airfare paid.
Azul Brazilian Check-In
To avoid serpentine queues at airport terminals, you may opt for online check-in option at the airline’s website.
